Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini has given his opinion on the likely arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Roma. The Italian midfielder admitted that his club are currently working on a deal. However, he cast doubt on the Belgian international’s contribution to the Giallorossi.
Roma are short of a striker to fill their boots this season. The club lost Tammy Abraham to injury last season. The Englishman leaves a gap in José Mourinho’s attacking line-up. Mourinho tried to find a replacement this summer. Alvaro Morato and Gianluca Scamacca were among the candidates considered. But in the end, the club decided to recruit Romelu Lukaku. And Pellegrini has his say. “I don’t know what Lukaku would bring, but there are people working to make it happen. When it’s done, we’ll see what he can bring, otherwise it’s like talking about any player in the world,” said the 27-year-old.
