Jose Mourinho has insisted he isn’t obsessed with achieving legendary status at the Stadio Olimpico after leading Roma to the Europa League final with a 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

The Special One has now guided the Giallorossi to back-to-back European finals, after winning the inaugural Conference League at the hands of Feyenoord at the end of the 2021-22 season. “My concern is not to mark my place in the history books of Roma. It helps these kids to grow up, to achieve important things. It also helps the Roma fans who have given me so much since the first day. It is a great joy to reach another final. The victory was in the small details,” he told Sky Sport. Mourinho also thanked the Roma fans for their outstanding support during their Europa League run, but asked for one more favor to return to Serie A in a few days.
