Napoli won this Thursday the Scudetto, 33 years after the last won in 1990. After the match against Udinese that consecrated the Azzurri, Luciano Spalletti, the coach of the club, gave his first impressions. He remembered the moment when many did not believe in him when he said he would win the Scudetto.
“Last year, everyone jumped on me saying that I had said something too big for my personality and responsibility when I said that we would try to win the Scudetto. I did it to get the most out of the players and to have a mentality that would allow us to go forward this year. We had Benitez, Ancelotti, Sarri who played the best soccer in Italy, Gattuso who won the Coppa Italia, so what am I doing? What am I playing for? I could only play for the Scudetto, otherwise I wouldn’t have a way out,” said Luciano Spalletti.
