Nicolò Barella thanks the Inter fans after finally scoring his first goal of the season in a dominant 3-0 victory over Napoli, but admits that “Juventus are the most difficult team to face”.
The Nerazzurri consolidated their leadership and sent out a strong message to the rest of Serie A by dominating the reigning champions on their own turf. “Napoli are Italian champions for a reason, they’re a very strong team, so it’s natural that we had to suffer a little here. Even so, we proved that we want to do well and are ready to fight to the end. I can only thank the fans, because in a difficult period for me when things weren’t working out, which had never happened before, they continued to support me, making me feel important. There is a very long way to go. Juventus are the most difficult team to play against, because they close off spaces and defend well. Napoli were more open and we took advantage of that,” Barella told DAZN. The win keeps Inter at the top of the table and maintains their two-point advantage over Juve, while AC Milan consolidate third place. Roma now catch Napoli in fourth place with 24 points.
