Joe Cole, former England international, who worked under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, told an anecdote about the Portuguese coach. The latter would have asked him to sell his car. But the player asked a question that scuppered the deal.
“Once in my career, in 2006, I decided to buy a luxury car: a Ferrari Scaglietti. I convinced myself that I should keep one, but I didn’t feel right. Mourinho saw it in the parking lot in Cobham (Chelsea’s sports town) and offered to buy it. I told him I would be very happy to do so, but on one condition: that they give me a new contract at Chelsea. Unfortunately, we did not reach an agreement,” said Joe Cole.
