Inter’s fears about Hakan Calhanoglu have materialized following a series of medical tests, which confirmed the presence of a thigh muscle injury.
The 29-year-old midfielder was forced off the field in the 38th minute of Turkey’s Euro 2024 qualifying loss to Croatia. Calhanoglu returned to Milan and Inter feared he would be out for several weeks during a crucial stage of the season, fears that have now been realized. As announced today, Calhanoglu underwent medical tests today which confirmed that he has a muscle strain in the adductor of his right thigh, a problem that will keep him out of action for a few weeks. The Turkish midfielder will undoubtedly miss Inter’s next game against Fiorentina and may also miss the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals against Juventus as well as the league match against Salernitana and the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Benfica.
