The future of the San Siro has been a hot topic in Lombardy for some months now. A renovation project, the costs of which would be shared between the city council, Inter and AC Milan, was on the cards. Recently, however, one of the two clubs suggested the idea of building its own new stadium. The mayor of the city, Giuseppe Sala, has now addressed the issue.

Giuseppe Sala, in an interview with La Repubblica, made a statement regarding the San Siro’s future. “If one of the two teams wanted to work on the stadium, given that it’s our property, we could consider taking on part of the work,” said the municipal authority. The other option would be to sell the stadium, added the mayor. “There are a lot of formulas. We have to see how willing one of the two teams is to stay there, and see what happens,” he concluded.
