Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo is open to a move this summer after Manchester United and Aston Villa began talks with his entourage.

The 30-year-old Italian right-back looked set to finish his career in the Campania capital, but things have changed over the course of this season. He was frustrated and disappointed by the club’s management, unhappy with their collapse after the Scudetto. Despite Napoli’s difficulties this term, Di Lorenzo has still managed to perform well despite shaky form, scoring twice and providing seven assists from 40 appearances. Il Mattino via TMW details how Manchester United and Aston Villa have both made contact with Di Lorenzo’s entourage to explore the idea of a transfer. He has made it clear that he is open to a possible transfer, thus facilitating further negotiations. The 30-year-old Italian defender is expected to request a meeting with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis at some point in the coming weeks, wanting to understand the club’s plans and projection ahead of next season. Di Lorenzo, who is under contract with the Partenopei until June 2028, has scored 15 goals and provided 35 assists in 224 games for the club.
