Giorgio Chiellini names ideal replacement for Giroud at AC Milan

Giorgio Chiellini has explained why he feels the time is right for Olivier Giroud to leave AC Milan. Indeed, the former Chelsea striker was officially announced as a Los Angeles MLS player on Tuesday by the American franchise. He thus leaves the Rossoneri after three years with the club. The veteran Italian central defender has also named the perfect replacement for the Frenchman.

“Milan have an advantage. They knew it, they saw the danger coming. And I’ll tell you what. If Giroud had stayed, he would have been in a difficult situation. In the beginning, it’s good to let a young player grow up, but then you run the risk of becoming a nuisance,” Chiellini began, before continuing. To replace the Frenchman, Chiellini suggests Zirkzee: “In Italy, the most successful player is undoubtedly Zirkzee, even though I know that many people like him. I already liked him at Parma, you could see that he had shots, that he was good. But of course, there’s a gulf between shooting and continuity,” he continued.
