Gianluigi Buffon, the new head of delegation for the Italian national team, was introduced at a press conference today. He discussed a wide range of topics, including Italy’s best goalkeepers at the moment. He mentioned Gianluigi Donnarumma and several other goalkeepers.
“There are 5-6 of them at the highest level, without mentioning Donnarumma, who is an established goalkeeper. He now rivals the best in the world class. All the others have come a long way and are giving important answers, starting with Vicario who will grow up in the Premier League, then Provedel, Meret who won the Scudetto, then Falcone at Lecce, Di Gregorio at Monza. There are a lot of goalkeepers who are proving that he’s super reliable and that he’s got something special. Carnesecchi isn’t playing for Atalanta now, but the championship is long. Provedel was probably the best goalkeeper in the last championship and that gives us hope if Gigio has a cold,” said Gigi Buffon at his press conference.
