Gasperini unhappy with Real defeat: “A game within our reach”.

Atalanta were beaten 2-0 by Real Madrid in yesterday’s European Supercup. It was a defeat that only came about in the second half, and one that Bergamo coach Gian Piero Gasperini regrets. Here’s his reaction to Sky Sport:

“We lost a great chance, certainly to open the scoring. Courtois parried Pasalic’s shot, of course, but immediately afterwards, Lookman had the goal open and strangely enough, he didn’t shoot with his left foot. And there were other chances in the first half that could have been better exploited. Before they opened the scoring, for an hour, it was a match within our grasp in fact, and we could and should have swung it our way, because it was a great opportunity.”
