Former Juventus and Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente believes Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg would be ideal for the Bianconeri.
Højbjerg has become one of Juventus’s main targets for January, given that Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli have been suspended. “I played against him [Højbjerg] in the Premier League. He’s a leader, a captain and that’s what Juventus need to start a new era of success,” former Juventus and Tottenham striker Llorente told La Gazzetta dello Sport. However, there is still a long way to go before the start of the winter mercato. Juventus are third in the Serie A table and will play AC Milan at the San Siro this evening. Llorente, a former Spain international, won six trophies during his two-year stay in Turin, including two Serie A titles. He worked under Allegri for one season, reaching the Champions League final in 2014-15 and playing alongside midfielders such as Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal, Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo.
