Albert Gudmundsson has become Juventus’s main candidate to replace Federico Chiesa this summer if the Italian international does not sign a contract extension.
Chiesa’s future at Juventus is uncertain as talks on a new deal at the Allianz Stadium have not yet begun. His contract in Turin expires in 2025, and if the versatile striker refuses to sign a new contract, the Bianconeri will listen to offers for him this summer. According to Tuttosport, Juventus cannot afford to increase his salary by €5 million a year, while the player’s entourage believe that their client deserves to be among the team’s highest-paid footballers and earn at least €7 million a season, like Dusan Vlahovic. Negotiations are due to start before next summer’s Euro, but according to La Gazzetta , Juventus have already identified Gudmundsson of Genoa as Chiesa’s potential replacement.
