The adventure between Fabio Grosso and Olympique Lyonnais will last no more than two months. The French club has decided to end its collaboration with the Italian coach. This was due to a lack of results.
Fabio Grosso arrived at Lyon in mid-September to replace Laurant Blanc. Since then, however, the club’s results have not improved. The club is bottom of Ligue 1 with 7 points from 12 matches. 4 defeats, two draws and one win – that’s the sad record of the former Frosinone coach. The board of directors then met to decide on his dismissal. Pierre Sage will now lead the team on an interim basis, alongside Jérémie Bréchet, Jean-François Vulliez and Rémy Vercoutre. Bruno Genesio is battling it out with Igor Tudor and Jorge Sampaoli to succeed the Italian coach. But the former Rennes man is said to be in pole position to take over the job.
