Inter Milan lost the UEFA Champions League final 1-0 to Manchester City on Saturday evening. According to Simone Inzaghi, the defeat was certainly down to bad luck. The Nerrazzuri coach believes that everything was written in stone and that City should win. He also admitted that his team deserved better than defeat in this fixture.
“That’s soccer, I still wonder because of those last 25 minutes. Everything was probably written: ankles, crossbars, a player hitting a teammate. The boys have to hold their heads high, they’ve had an incredible run and an incredible final. City played a great game, they deserved these years and I congratulated Pep. I would have gladly kept them waiting a little longer. Tonight we deserved better, we put them on the ropes,” declared Simone Inzaghi.
