AC Milan, 3rd in Serie A, are seriously weakened by the significant number of players currently sidelined. Ahead of their final match of the year against Sassuolo, the club has eight players unavailable.
Yunus Musah and Luka Jovic had another personal training session today. The American is also heading for a red card against Sassuolo. In Milanello, the two players continue to train away from Stefano Pioli’s squad, who will once again have to cope with a number of defections for the challenge against the Neroverdi. Against Sassuolo, the Rossoneri will have their work cut out, but Stefano Pioli still has a number of absentees: Sportiello, Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori, Caldara, Musah, Pobega and Okafor, while Argentine Pellegrino could return to the squad after a week of full training. Added to these absences is that of Jovic, returning from an ankle injury sustained in Salerno. Stefano Pioli will therefore once again be relying on the best possible eleven. Maignan in goal, Calabria and Florenzi at the back, and Kjaer and Theo Hernandez at the back. In midfield, Pioli will keep Bennacer, Loftus-Cheek and Reijnders on the flanks. Pulisic, Giroud and Leao will be the benchmarks in attack.
