Divock Origi is determined to stay at AC Milan to redeem himself after a disappointing 2022-23 campaign, despite the club’s desire to sell the former Liverpool striker this summer according to information from La Gazzetta dello Sport.
AC Milan would like to bring in a striker this summer to support 36-year-old Olivier Giroud, but must first let some players go in order to raise funds. Origi would earn around €4 million per season on his current contract, the second-highest salary among Milan players, behind only Rafael Leao. However, although Origi is one of the main candidates to leave the San Siro this summer, AC Milan may find it difficult to move the Belgian international, especially as his contract runs until 2026. La Gazzetta reports that his name has come up twice in discussions between AC Milan and West Ham. Saudi Arabia have also expressed an interest, but as with West Ham, no decision has yet materialized.
