Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo is reportedly close to signing a new long-term contract with the club.
The 29-year-old played a crucial role in the Partenopei’s historic Scudetto success last season, with over 3200 minutes of action in 37 Serie A games. While some changes have taken place at Napoli in recent weeks, president Aurelio De Laurentiis is not keen on a total overhaul, and is therefore working on new contracts for a handful of players. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport via TMW , Napoli have begun drawing up the terms of a new contract for Di Lorenzo, which could be agreed at a meeting with his agent Mario Giuffredi next week. The new deal will run until 2027 or 2028, and will see him earn in excess of €3 million net per season, an increase on the €2.4 million net he currently earns.
