Victor Osimhen is just one step away from signing his new contract with Napoli, set to become the highest paid player in the club’s history.
The Nigerian star and his agent Roberto Calenda have been negotiating a new deal for weeks with Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis, keen to put a new deal in place after last season’s Scudetto success. An agreement has now been reached between Osimhen and Napoli, allowing the 24-year-old to start the new season with his mind fully focused on soccer. Gianluca Di Marzio explains how Osimhen will earn over €10 million net per season in his new contract with Napoli, which will extend his stay until June 2026. A release clause will be included, worth 150 million euros, and will not be valid for Italy for the first year. This agreement suits all parties. De Laurentiis insists that Osimhen will remain in the Campania capital for at least another season, and would demand a hefty fee if a European giant were to arrive next summer.
