Inter winger Denzel Dumfries is open to the possibility of extending his contract with Inter, despite numerous reports linking him with a move away from the San Siro this summer.

According to Friday’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dumfries isn’t entirely convinced by the idea of moving away from Inter for a number of reasons and could negotiate with the club in the months leading up to the end of the 2023-24 season. La Gazzetta claims that the player’s entourage has been in contact with club representatives in recent weeks regarding a contract extension. The Dutch international’s contract expires at the end of next season. With this in mind, Inter were prepared to transfer him to another club this summer to avoid losing him for free the following year. The Nerazzurri also recruited Tajon Buchanan for €12 million during the January mercato, their only signing that month. He was expected to be Dumfries’s long-term heir to Simone Inzaghi’s right-back position.
