Roma now have another controversy to deal with, as it is reported that Chris Smalling has asked to be sold in the January transfer window.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the English defender has filed the transfer request. He will be a free agent anyway when his current contract expires in June, and has already been linked with a transfer to Inter that would allow him to stay in Serie A. Smalling is one of the first names on Jose Mourinho’s team sheet, making 25 appearances this season in all competitions and also scoring three goals. However, rumors around a contract extension have been circulating for some time and he could be considered as Milan Skriniar’s replacement at Inter.
