La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Chelsea are “ready” to pay Victor Osimhen’s release clause at the end of the season.
The Nigerian striker published an interview with CBS on Tuesday, claiming to have already made a decision regarding the “next step” in his career by the end of the season. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Napoli were “surprised” by Osimhen’s interview, as it had not been agreed with the club. La Gazzetta confirms Osimhen’s desire to leave the Stadio Maradona at the end of the season and reports that Chelsea are “ready” to pay his release clause this summer and “shower him with gold” by offering him a lucrative salary. Osimhen recently signed a contract extension with Napoli until June 2026, but the new deal includes a clause in the region of €120-130 million. According to La Gazzetta, the clause is set at 130 million euros, and Osimhen and his entourage have pushed to include it in the new contract in order to join a Premier League club this summer.
