In a recent media release, Antonio Cassano returned to the incidents that took place after the Europa League final. The Italian points the finger of blame at José Mourinho for the fans’s actions, claiming that it was the Special One who lit the fuse.
“Everything that happened after the match is the fault of just one person: the Roma coach. And I’ll even mention some names and nicknames. José Mourinho. He should be ashamed of himself. He didn’t accept the defeat. The fans saw his behavior, then they felt entitled to do the same, and what we know happened at the airport, with the referee’s daughter and wife. [Anthony] Taylor terrified. He said he was going on vacation, hoping never to return to Italy. In those two years, all we saw was confusion. It has ruined AS Roma’s image. Let him stay in Portugal and never come back,” Antonio Cassano told Bobo TV.
