Nicolò Barella was unavailable for Italy’s friendly against Turkey on Tuesday, and his Inter team-mate Hakan Calhanoglu wished him a speedy recovery.
Gazzetta reported that the Azzurri star had suffered a minor muscle strain, but Spalletti said it was’a precautionary decision. Barella and Calhanoglu’s team-mates, Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco, played against Turkey last night. “It’s always nice to see teammates. We are far away, but our hearts are close. I am sorry for Barella, who is injured. I hope he recovers soon. He’s important for Italy and a very good player. It was better for us not to have him here, but I wish Italy all the best. We concentrated mainly on tactics, because it’s never easy against Italy. They always move well, but we were united and kept our lines tight. I’m happy because we did well against a great team,” he declared.
