Nicolò Barella will soon sign a contract extension with Inter, becoming Serie A’s best-paid Italian player on a salary of €7 million a year, including add-ons.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Barella is to become Serie A’s highest-paid Italian player with a new contract at the Stadio Meazza. His current deal with the Serie A champions ends in June 2026, but director Piero Ausilio said a few days ago that the Italian international will extend his contract ahead of teammate Lautaro Martinez. Gazzetta claims that Barella’s new contract will expire in June 2029, and that his salary will rise from €5 million a year to €6.5 million a year, plus supplements.
