Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu underwent a series of medical tests today, which confirmed the presence of a slight muscular problem.

The 30-year-old was left on the bench for the Nerazzurri’s 4-0 away win over Lecce on Sunday evening. Simone Inzaghi explained to the press before the match that the player had had a “problem” in training, prompting caution for the match. Calhanoglu is one of the most important players in Inzaghi’s Inter squad, acting as a focal point in their build-up play and a decisive figure in the final third, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 30 games this season. As announced today in a press release, Calhanoglu underwent a series of tests at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano, which revealed a slight muscular strain in the adductor of the right thigh. He will undergo further tests in the coming days to verify the problem. The 30-year-old will therefore miss the next match against Atalanta on February 28, and is also doubtful for the next game against Genoa on March 4.
