The Court of Appeal of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) yesterday confirmed the two-match suspension imposed on the coach of AS Roma, Jose Mourinho.

The incident occurred during the Giallorossi’s 2-1 loss to Cremonese, when Serra and Mourinho had a brief discussion on the sidelines, provoking an angry response from the coach. Mourinho insisted that he had been insulted by Serra and that his reaction was therefore proportionate to the provocation of a member of the refereeing team. His two-match ban was suspended pending further investigation, so he was able to be on the bench for last weekend’s 1-0 win over Juventus. However, the two-match ban has been confirmed, so Mourinho will not be on the sidelines for the Sassuolo clash or the Derby della Capitale with Lazio. He was also fined € 10,000.
