It’s a major blow for Inter Milan, and particularly for Marko Arnautovic. After coming on as a substitute in the 0-1 win over Empoli, the Austrian centre-forward has suffered an injury. He is expected to be absent for an extended period.
Marko Arnautovic underwent instrumental tests this morning at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano, Inter Milan said in a press release. The medical examination confirmed Simone Inzaghi’s prediction of a serious injury. The former Bologna player is expected to remain in the infirmary for a month and a half. He is likely to miss around ten games at a time when the club really needs him. He is set to miss Sassuolo in mid-week, followed by the trip to Salernitana on Matchday 7. He is also set to miss at least two Champions League matches. These are Benfica and the trip home to face Red Bull Salzburg.
