Inter have confirmed that Francesco Acerbi has suffered a slight muscle strain in his right leg, and several sources claim that the Italian international is likely to miss next week’s clash with Atletico Madrid.
“Francesco Acerbi underwent medical examinations this morning at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano. The Nerazzurri defender has a slight muscle strain in his right leg. His condition will be assessed in the coming days”, Inter said in an official statement. The Serie A giants have not revealed Acerbi’s recovery time, but several sources in Italy, including Calciomercato.it and Calciomercato.com, claim that Acerbi is likely to miss the next Serie A match against Salernitana and will probably be ruled out of next week’s Champions League match against Atletico Madrid. Inter will meet the Colchoneros in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie at the San Siro on February 20. Diego Simeone’s men will be without striker Alvaro Morata, who picked up a knee injury against Sevilla on Sunday.
