Charles De Ketelaere has impressed in Bergamo since joining Atalanta from AC Milan in the summer, and the club are reportedly keen to activate his purchase option.
The Rossoneri invested around €36 million in the Belgian striker last year, but were disappointed with his work in the Lombardy capital. He managed just one assist in a total of 40 appearances, losing the confidence of Stefano Pioli and the fans. De Ketelaere joined Atalanta this summer on a €3 million loan with a total purchase option of €24 million, and impressed under Gian Piero Gasperini, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 21 games. La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Atalanta have been impressed by De Ketelaere’s work this season and plan to activate the purchase option attached to his loan, giving him the chance to settle permanently in Bergamo. The 22-year-old Belgian striker has established himself as one of Club Brugge’s top talents, and has now started to settle in Serie A after a difficult year with AC Milan.
