Charles De Ketelaere didn’t live up to expectations in his first season with AC Milan, but has still attracted the attention of Atalanta, according to reports.
The Rossoneri focused their efforts on the Belgian talent last summer and eventually beat Leeds United to his signature, paying around €35 million in total for the 22-year-old. AC Milan’s investment in De Ketelaere hasn’t paid off yet, however, as the Belgian has only managed to provide one assist in 33 appearances in all competitions this season, looking like a shadow of the player who shone with Club Brugge. As detailed by TMW, Atalanta are keeping a close eye on De Ketelaere this season and are keen to make a move for the Milanese talent this summer, believing in his potential. Gian Piero Gasperini has proven his ability to get the best out of players in the past and would welcome the 22-year-old to his team. A loan deal could suit the Rossoneri allowing the player to continue his development in Italy.
