After reaching an agreement to sign Algerian midfielder Houssem Auoar when his contract with Lyon expires this summer, Roma are expected to dive back into the free agent market in the next transfer window.

With UEFA’s financial fair play restrictions involved, Zeki Celik was the only player the Giallorossi spent money on last summer, and the situation could be similar this year, with free transfers lined up to replace players who could be moved to increase capital gains. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Roma are working on a deal to secure the services of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka, whose contract in Germany is due to expire in June.

The report claims that Tiago Pinto has already presented a tempting offer to the 23-year-old and his representatives, but N’Dicka shows no signs of urgency in terms of signing, especially with Barcelona’s interest in the mix. Another option from the Bundesliga is Borussia Moenchengladbach fullback Ramy Bensebaini, who could replace Leonardo Spinazzola should he be brought in to raise funds. Roma could also be in the market for a new center forward, especially if Tammy Abraham moves this summer and with Andrea Belotti nearing the end of his current contract.
