According to Il Corriere dello Sport, AS Roma have chosen Florent Ghisolfi of OGC Nice as their new sporting director.
The Giallorossi parted company with Tiago Pinto in February 2024, and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, they are on the verge of hiring Florent Ghisolfi to replace the Portuguese. According to the report, several sources confirm that the 39-year-old has been chosen for the job. In recent months, other candidates have been linked to the role, including Monza’s François-Joseph Modesto, Nicolas Burdisso and Frederic Massara. Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Roma’s owners have been evaluating various candidates since February with the support of Retexo Intelligence, a company that helps soccer clubs study and identify personnel that match their requirements. Ghisolfi is said to have ticked all the boxes for Roma, in particular the club’s desire to remain competitive and financially viable. French media have confirmed that AS Roma representatives have met Ghisolfi twice in recent weeks, and the French director’s plan for the team’s development has satisfied the Giallorossi owners and directors.
