Angel Di Maria has accused Juventus directors and coach Max Allegri of sending mixed messages about a new contract.
After 40 competitive games with eight goals and seven assists, El Fideo left without either the club or the player seeming interested in extending their relationship beyond a year. “It was a very difficult year for the club. I never really understood what happened during the season. I tried to understand and do my duty when it was my chance to play, but I didn’t play much and in the end it affected me. I had a lot of meetings with the Juve management and it wasn’t what I had discussed with the coach. Sometimes you realize that words aren’t worth much,” Di Maria told Argentina’s DSports Radio. It was a chaotic campaign both off and on the pitch, with the club losing points in Serie A due to financial irregularities.
