Barcelona are reportedly preparing to battle again with Fiorentina for the signature of midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, after the Catalan giants narrowly missed out on acquiring his services on the January mercato deadline.
According to reports in Calciomercato, Xavi wants Amrabat “at all costs” as he could be a perfect alternative to 34-year-old Sergio Busquets, the foundation of Barca’s midfield. Xavi and his team will try again this summer, and according to Calciomercato, Amrabat “only has Barcelona in mind”. A meeting between representatives of Amrabat, Barcelona and Fiorentina is already scheduled for the end of the season, when the parties involved will try to negotiate an agreement that suits all parties. Rocco Commisso has reportedly set the price at 40 million euros and is not ready to make significant discounts.
