Faced with fans’ incessant demands for players, Massimiliano Allegri has stepped up to the plate. Speaking to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Juventus coach reiterated that there was no point in recruiting players willy-nilly. He pointed out that the club’s recruitment depends on whether or not it takes part in a European Cup.
“I talk to the manager every day about the transfer market. We assess the team in the best possible way: if we can, we’ll improve, but there’s no point in taking on players just to increase our numbers. We have excellent, able-bodied players who can improve and grow because they’re young. We’re waiting to find out first whether we’ll be taking part in the Conference League or not, and then we’ll evaluate with the club and the manager how to move. Because if we play in Europe, we’ll have to make one type of team, without Cups, we’ll have to build another,” said Max Allegri.
