Alex Meret has some regrets about the way Napoli’s season has gone. In a recent media outing, the Italian goalkeeper addressed a number of issues, including his future with the Partenopei.
Alex Meret, Napoli goalkeeper, spoke to Sky Sport after the draw with Lecce: “Our year was disappointing, we didn’t do what we expected. This draw, for example, is an important wasted opportunity. It will be important to put the season behind us and get back on track for the next one,” he began. A year without a European Cup? “It will be different because we’re used to playing every three or four days, so we’ll have more time to prepare for the games. That could be an advantage in terms of working on our weaknesses and improving our collective game,” he continues. Finally, the 27-year-old goalkeeper expressed his desire to continue with Napoli: “I feel good at the Azzurri, and I’ll make my assessments according to the conditions. My agent will meet Manna in the next few days to discuss and decide on my future. I still have a lot to give to this team, but everything will depend on the club’s plans and the direction we want to take together”, concluded Alex Meret.
