Alessandro Nesta, a former Italian player, recently declared who he considered to be the best player of all time. For him, it was neither Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo. He named his former team-mate, Ronaldo the Brazilian.
“I’m for Ronaldo the Brazilian. I played against Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7 at 38 when I was half baked. But Ronaldo the Brazilian, I played against him when I was 22 in the UEFA Cup final. I’d never seen a player like him. At the end of the match, I walked out serene. I’d lost the UEFA Cup final, I’d gone into the dressing room, sat down and said to myself: What more could I do? And that night, I couldn’t do anything more because I was playing against the strongest player I’ve ever seen. My abilities aren’t enough to stop this man. He has strength and class. A sensational player”, declared the former AC Milan player.
