The end of the road for Eljif Elmas at Napoli. The Macedonian midfielder is set to join RB Leipzig next winter. Both parties have reached an agreement. The signing is expected to take place in the first few days of the winter mercato.
Eljif Elmas, who joined Napoli from Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2019 for €16 million, will not see out the remainder of his contract, which expires in 2025. Less and less used this season, the Macedonian international has decided to look elsewhere. He will continue his career in Germany. RB Leipzig have managed to convince Aurelio De Laurentiis’s clan. The German outfit will have to pay €25 million to the reigning Italian champions. Walter Mazzarri’s club are already looking at possible replacements for the 24-year-old. Lazar Samardzic of Udinese, Maurits Kiergaard of Salzburg, Emil Hjbjerg of Tottenham and Mats Wieffet of Feyenoord are the profiles on the Azzurri’s table.
