In a statement published today in La Stampa, Marco Tardelli shared his thoughts on last Thursday’s match between Italy and Spain. He expressed his deep doubts after observing the Italian national team’s performance.

“I thought and thought about what I saw in Italy-Spain, and suddenly all my certainties, the ones I had built up about the national team, began to shake in a tragic way,” began Tardelli. The former Italian international recalled with emotion the team’s admirable reaction after the incident with Dimarco against Albania, emphasizing that the team had shown strong character and the technical qualities necessary to overcome obstacles. However, he expressed his disappointment at the performance against Spain, saying: “Unfortunately, like snow in the sun, our Azzurri against Spain disappeared, the water evaporated (…).”
