Adriano spent two spells with Inter between 2001 and 2002, and again between 2004 and 2009. He is one of the greatest strikers in the club’s history. In a recent media interview, the Brazilian recalled his fondest memories with the Nerazzurri.
“Inter is part of my life, it’s my family, a club that I love and that I always support. I’ve experienced many wonderful moments here, and if I close my eyes, the goal I remember is this one. A free-kick at the Bernabeu on August 14, 2001. They say the ball was going at 170 an hour. It’s unforgettable for me, just like the goal in the 2004 Copa America final against Argentina. That goal in the 93rd minute allowed us to draw and then win on penalties, and that remains an indelible memory,” said the Brazilian, who played almost two hundred games for Inter, scoring 77 goals.
