According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have identified four transfer priorities for the summer: a center forward, a central midfielder, a right winger and a replacement for Theo Hernandez.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Rossoneri directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are already making their evaluations ahead of next season. The defending Serie A champions want to strengthen the team in all areas, starting with the attack. Olivier Giroud is expected to sign a new one-year contract, but with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future uncertain, the Rossoneri need to sign a new center forward. Alvaro Morata and João Pedro of Watford are said to be on the agenda, although other reports claim that Jonathan David of Lille is also on AC Milan’s radar. AC Milan also need a new right winger who can give more unpredictability than Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias who have lacked consistency. The third priority is a reliable replacement for Theo Hernandez, as Fodé Ballo-Touré has struggled to impress, making only eight appearances in all competitions this season.
AC Milan will also be looking for a new midfielder who can strengthen Stefano Pioli’s options in the middle of the park. Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer, Rade Krunic and Tommaso Pobega are “untouchable”, but with Yacine Adli and Aster Vranckx on the verge of collapse, Maldini and Massara could be looking for a new central midfielder for 2023-24.
