After arriving at AC Milan in the summer of 2021, Mike Maignan has established himself as one of Serie A’s top goalkeepers. The Rossoneri are keen to keep hold of this asset, and are already thinking about strengthening it.
In today’s edition, the Gazzetta Dello Sport reports on the renewal of Mike Maignan’s contract. The goalkeeper, recruited for 13 million euros from Lille to AC Milan, has enjoyed a meteoric rise. With his contract due to expire in 2026, the Italian club is keen to extend his lease to avoid a premature departure. The renewal is also expected to readjust his current salary of 3.5 million, which is deemed insufficient for his talent. To this end, the club’s staff have already been negotiating with the player’s entourage since last summer. Discussions are expected to continue in the near future, and a renewal could be announced in the coming months.
