AC Milan are now looking to strengthen their midfield after signing Alvaro Morata, working on deals for Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana and Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic.

The Rossoneri have finally chosen a new striker to replace Olivier Giroud, signing Morata from Atletico Madrid for 13 million euros. He has agreed a four-year contract, worth around 4.5 million euros net per season, plus supplements. AC Milan are now ready to plan some changes in midfield. Ismael Bennacer and Yacine Adli are not part of Fonseca’s plans and will probably leave in the coming weeks, prompting the club to start working on bringing in reinforcements. La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Fonseca has specifically asked AC Milan to sign both Samardzic and Fofana this summer, wanting the former because of his flexibility and potential, and the latter because of his physicality. The Rossoneri are keen to close the gap on rivals Inter after last season’s Scudetto, and are now concentrating on concluding deals for both midfielders.
