Milan defender Pierre Kalulu has suffered a muscle injury, meaning that Simon Kjaer and Malick Thiaw will start in central defense against Inter on Saturday if the Frenchman fails to recover.
Several sources in Italy, including Sportmediaset and Gazzetta, claim that Kalulu has suffered a muscle injury which will be assessed by Rossoneri doctors in the coming days. Kalulu had not been called up by his French national team and was therefore injured while training with his club. Kjaer and Thiaw will start in central defense against Inter if Kalulu is ruled out. The other two central defenders available would be Mattia Caldara, who has only played two games for the Rossoneri, and young Argentine defender Marco Pellegrino. There were more concerns for AC Milan during the September break, as Olivier Giroud returned to Milanello after suffering a slight injury. Similarly, Mike Maignan and Théo Hernandez missed training with Les Bleus on Saturday, but according to several sources in Italy, the trio should be available for the derby against Inter next week.
