Stefano Pioli is reportedly planning several changes to his Milan team for the Champions League clash against Newcastle United, following a humiliating 5-1 derby defeat to Inter .

Their first Champions League match will take place at the San Siro on Tuesday evening, when Sandro Tonali returns as an opponent for the first time since his €80 million summer transfer to Tyneside. Pioli had hitherto been reluctant to make adjustments to his line-up, but was forced to change defences against Inter when Fikayo Tomori was suspended and Pierre Kalulu injured. Tomori is available again and should start against Newcastle, although Sky Sport Italia also suggests further adjustments by the coach. Samuel Chukwueze could make his first start for Milan, sending Christian Pulisic to the bench. There could also be a change in midfield, as one of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rade Krunic and Tijjani Reijnders could be rested after playing non-stop so far this season.
