AC Milan are looking forward to the January mercato and are considering recruiting Lille striker Jonathan David, reports Le détail.

The Rossoneri have been incredibly active during the summer mercato, signing a long list of players including Tijjani Reijnders, Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The club has been slow to recruit a striker, and after failing to sign Mehdi Taremi, they completed a last-minute transfer for Luka Jovic. AC Milan are keen to recruit a new left-back in January to give Theo Hernandez some cover, putting forward Juan Miranda from Real Betis as a solid option, and they are also keen to strike a deal for a striker. As Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com reports, Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani is hoping to take advantage of the strong relationship with Lille to strike a deal for David, whose contract expires with the French club next summer. The 23-year-old Canadian striker is strongly interested in a move to the Rossoneri, despite interest from various teams across Europe.
