Although talks have not yet begun, AC Milan are ready to offer coach Stefano Pioli a new contract this summer.
At one point this season, Pioli seemed destined to leave the Rossoneri, leaving fans incredibly frustrated ahead of the Christmas break. Numerous alternatives were proposed, including Conte, Thiago Motta and Roberto De Zerbi. In the second half of the season, AC Milan found a new lease of life under Pioli and were one of the league’s most in-form teams, sitting comfortably second in the table. As reported by Calciomercato.com, AC Milan have yet to make a final decision on Pioli, but are ready to offer the coach a new contract. Owner Gerry Cardinale will gather all analyses and advice at the end of the season before deciding on the way forward. The Rossoneri are still keeping a close eye on Thiago Motta’s situation at Bologna, but the coach is said to have an agreement in principle with Juventus before the summer. Conte seems less likely as his stock at the club is falling, with many concerned about his transfer ambitions and future planning.
