Stefano Pioli is not certain of retaining his position as AC Milan coach. The Italian coach is in the hot seat, despite having one year left on his contract. He could leave the Lombardy giants this summer, to be replaced by Julen Lopetegui.
AC Milan are already taking steps to succeed Stefano Pioli. Despite second place in Serie A, the coach could be out of a job. This is due to the poor result in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals against AS Roma. A reversal of fortunes and the Rossoneri reaching the semi-finals could keep Pioli at the helm of the club. If not, a new manager would have to step in. That would be Julen Lopetegui, according to Corriere Dello Sport. The Italian media outlet reports that the club’s administration has been in talks with the former Real Madrid coach for several months. But nothing official has yet been decided.
