AC Milan are convinced that Joshua Zirkzee is the ideal man to strengthen their front line, and have begun planning a summer transfer for the Bologna striker.
The 22-year-old Dutch striker gave the Rossoneri a taste of his abilities in their Serie A clash on Saturday evening, scoring the opening goal in their 2-2 draw at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. AC Milan are clearly looking for the right striker to invest in, and Zirkzee is one of Serie A’s most promising young strikers, scoring eight goals in 20 league games for Bologna this season. He has also attracted the attention of Napoli, Manchester United and Arsenal. As reported by Tuttosport via TMW, AC Milan are planning to make a move for Zirkzee this summer and have begun drawing up a plan to combat Bologna’s €50-60 million valuation, a fee they can’t avoid matching. The Rossoneri are looking to reinvest the €25-30 million from the sale of Charles De Ketelaere to Atalanta for Zirkzee, and will also seek to include Alexis Saelemaekers, currently on loan at Reggio-Emilia, in the deal. Bayern Munich, who sold the Dutch striker to Bologna in August 2022, have a buy-back clause of €40 million, which could complicate matters this summer.
